Brunch at Repeal makes it difficult to choose between breakfast or a lunch item. I'm normally all about breakfast but I couldn't resist the shrimp and crab roll.m which did not disappoint. The coffee is also really good and we mighhhhht have finished with a breakfast waffle for dessert which had excellent syrup and was covered in Nutella, whipped cream, and berries. I'd go back for sure. Ranged from $16-40 but most choices were around $22.
FINALLY made it to Repeal! I've been wanting to go for years and just now got to go. And they did not disappoint. The service was amazing, I believe Andre was our server and he was wonderful and so welcoming. The decor is cute, I will say it felt like it was missing something as far as decor and ambiance but overall experience was wonderful with service and food. I ordered the spritz drink and it was perfectly light and refreshing. I also got the beet salad and it was divine! I then got the filet and whipped potatoes. Both were great. I felt my steak was a bit overcooked. I asked medium rare and it was more medium well. The potatoes were good! The bread is absolutely outstanding and has my mouth still watering. The cheesecake was absolutely fabulous! All in all I recommend Repeal and I definitely back it being a premier steakhouse in Louisville.
Two words: "worth it". Food phenomenal and service even better. We sat upstairs at the bar and Clayton was our server/bartender and we could not have had a better time. He gave us great advice for the food, the drinks, and the after-dinner local entertainment. Go here!
Anniversary dinner out 6-5-24. By far our best meal out in a long time. Food was great as usual. Our waiter was courteous very informative and advised us on selections on menu. Christian as usual was AWESOME. A rare find these days.
When travelling, we always like to go for at least one "fancy" dinner. We chose Repeal because the menu was appealing and they had gluten free options. (They were even able to substitute gluten free bread for the complimentary rolls served before the meal.) My sister had steak (8oz petite filet, king crab, asparagus, black truffle béarnaise) and I had Faroe Island salmon (wild rice, golden beets, arugula, citrus butter), and as sides we had roasted mushrooms (miso-ginger butter) and heirloom carrots (tahini yogurt, spicy seeds, red wine vinaigrette). We also had two drinks each -- cocktails for my sister and wine for me. While pricey ($225 before tip, but standard for a high end restaurant), everything was absolutely delicious, and worth the price. In addition to the delicious meal, the service was fantastic. The server, Michelle, was friendly and helpful, and when I was trying to select which wine to have, the server brought me a generous sample so that I could try it first. If you want to treat yourself to a fantastic meal, you will not be disappointed with Repeal. A well-deserved five out of five stars. We were gifted a gift card and I was so excited to try this! It's on the expensive side for a steakhouse and it has a lot of seafood options. If you're looking to try wagyu, this is the place! They have a large wine and alcohol menu. The have half off select wine bottles on Mondays after 5pm. The service was really good! Zero complaints! The food was delicious! I really enjoyed it and was so glad we tried it. I wish the sweet potatoes had been a little thicker, but still delicious. The place is very intimate which I liked. They have soft lighting and once it gets dark outside, it becomes a really cool vibe.
Went in here recently, pretty cool place For the food, the bring out these rolls with butter before the entires, it was so yummy! The food was pretty good overall. I got the organic chicken. It was yummy but I thought it might have had some more seasoning. The Mac and cheese was really good! Steak fries were ok but I didn't understand why they were so big. I would expect a steak fry to be thin but these things were big. It was something unique that just didn't fit my preference. The service here is impeccable. Between your main server and a helper you are always getting attention and helped when needed. Had a really nice takeaway bag that they boxed up for us, all complementary with no cost. I really like the availability of alcohol here. They have a really cool bar set up, a lot of bourbons and wine. Me and my partner both got a glass of moscato. It's pricey as expected but if you're out for a special occasion it really ads to it. They brought out the wine in a small container to put in your glass, I thought that was cool. For the price I thought the food would be slightly better but when factoring in overall experience this is still 5 starts for me. Good destination when celebrating a special occasion like we were.
This was on our list of places to eat for a long time. We finally went there to celebrate my wife's birthday, and it was well worth the wait! We started off with their East Coast oysters, which we only ordered four. I could've eaten more, but I'm glad I saved room for what was to come. Next, we ordered the refreshing heirloom tomato, and kept the seafood train going with scallops, which were excellent. Then, we finally ordered what we came for: steak. We kicked things up a notch and ordered their signature Repeal Style, which was one of the best steaks I've had in Louisville. The crab on top just enhanced the meal. I polished things off with their delightful Old Fashioned. It was an amazing meal, excellent atmosphere, and the bill wasn't even as steep as I thought. We'll be back!
I was so excited when we got a last minute reservation to celebrate our anniversary. The bread was amazing. I loved my beet salad. I'm not a steak eater but my husband rated his filet very high. We were on the Terrace which is upstairs and has an open air concept. I love it other than the street noise which is in no one's control. Repeal is a special occasion restaurant in my opinion.
Run don't walk! If you find yourself in Downtown Louisville KY this place is a must. Walking into the restaurant the ambiance is beautiful! Large display of bourbons and the bar is large. Make reservations!! We had reservations for 6:15 pm on a Thursday and the place was already full. We were seated right away. Ordered the lobster bisque. Very fancy presentation poured at table. Also ordered the French onion soup. Which is served with a pair of scissors to cut the stringy cheese which is ingenious. The bread and butter are heavenly. Service was good. Found it strange the waiter took away my butter knife and took my guests butter knife and placed it on the bread plate. So we now had to share a butter knife to sitter our bread. No big deal. Just strange as this place is an elegant restaurant We wash ordered the 8pm filet. BEST filet I have ever eaten and I have been to many upscale steak houses. Sides were asparagus, mushrooms and mash potatoes All delectable
